AppArmor has always been committed to the privacy and security of our customers and their data.  In fact, it has always been our preference to avoid and minimize data collection whenever possible.  Many of our apps continue to be completely anonymous to this day! With the new GDPR regulations coming into effect later this week, we decided it would be a good time to reaffirm our commitment to protecting your data privacy and security.

AppArmor completed a detailed review of the GDPR compliance requirements across all of our systems, and confirm that we are in compliance.  Often, we even go beyond the requirements set out by GDPR.

AppArmor in collaboration with our clients are considered "Data Controllers" under the terms of GDPR.  As such we are responsible for the principles relating to processing of personal data. These are: lawfulness, fairness and transparency, data minimization, accuracy, storage limitation and integrity, and confidentiality of personal data.

We can further confirm that all data collected is encrypted both and rest and in transit.  We operate our systems only on GDPR compliant data processor datacenters. We have taken steps to train our staff and establish policies relating to data security and GDPR compliance. Our privacy policy outlines our commitment to only use data for it's intended purpose, never selling or renting the data, and many other safeguards.

We encourage you to review our privacy policy here and contact us at support@apparmor.com if you have any questions.
